Former NYC Firefighter Takes Guests to Simpler Times with Catskill Mountains Resort

When you think of an idyllic summer vacation not far from New York City, you just might picture something a lot like the Catskill Mountains Resort.

Recapturing the simplicity of a childhood spent in the Catskills, a former firefighter from Queens opened a resort that he hopes will bring old-fashioned values to a new generation.

"Years ago, being a kid, our parents used to take us to different places and stuff up here and you just don’t see that anymore,” William Zaccari said. “You don’t see kids and families actually coming together, sitting by the pool or sitting by a fire pit at night and doing s’mores."

Zaccari is the owner of the Catskill Mountains Resort in Sullivan County, not far from the Delaware River.

His substantial spread includes a main house with Bed and Breakfast style rooms designed for couples, Cabins and a courtyard annex of 20 rooms for families.  One of the rooms is reserved for the disabled and is ADA compliant with ramps, wider door, handrails, a walk in shower and attached private parking.
A restaurant on premises employs both a French chef and maitre d’ from the Big Apple. Additionally there is a Brick Oven Pizzeria on premises that serves up gourmet pizza and other delicious Italian delicacies and comfort food.

They have multiple packages ranging from daily spa, romance to couples or family packages including all meals, a river rafting trip on the Delaware and an ATV ride on nearby trails.

Liquor, taxes and tips are extra.
